A marriage proposal on board: a 7-point checklist
Foredeck layout, timing the surprise, the photographer and the weather — what not to miss.

Planned well, a marriage proposal on board becomes a moment you remember for life. Here is the checklist we have put together from the occasions we have run over the years.
1. Pick the right time
Casting off about 40 minutes before sunset gets you the best light.
2. Reserve the foredeck
The bow of our boat is wide and works very well for photographs. We finish setting up the decoration before departure.
3. Talk to the photographer in advance
Professional photo and video coverage can be added as an extra. Agreeing where the photographer will stand beforehand matters.
4. Get the music ready
You can connect to the sound system over Bluetooth; have your playlist ready in advance.
5. Consider the extras
A fire show and a laser show on the Bosphorus both add to the moment.
6. Watch the weather
Tours run in winter too; there are heaters and enclosed areas on both decks.
7. Keep the surprise
We handle the booking quietly on your behalf; our crew will not give the details away on the day.
